Racer Fundraising:
A New Challenge to the Glacier Challenge
One of our biggest challenges in putting on the Glacier Challenge is to connect this race to its source as a fund-raiser for the Flathead Youth Home. While we love this race for many reasons, the heart of it for us is the fact that it supports our work with local kids in crisis. Each year, the Glacier Challenge makes it possible for us to continue offering these kids a place to turn when life turns upside down. This year, we want to create a way for you, the racer, to be a bit more involved in that equation. Here’s how it will work. Registration fees will remain the same as last year:
$75 solo / $125 partner / $250 team / $350 corporate team sponsorship. We are asking you to consider fund-raising your registration fee [and maybe even more!] instead of pulling out your checkbook and writing us a check. We encourage you to send out letters [click here to download a sample letter] to friends and family, telling them about the Glacier Challenge and your involvement in it. Tell them that you are not only doing this ultra cool athletic event, you are also raising funds for a really great cause. Ask your boss, the checkout lady at the grocery store, the mailman, your grand-mother, a next door neighbor. We will supply all the material you will need to be successful. For those of you who are really ambitious, we will offer a very cool award to the racer who raises the most money over and above your registration fee. [We will give out your prize and ribbon at our post-race award ceremony.] No only do you 1] help support this important cause 2] get to race for free 3] possibly win the best fund-raiser prize... you get to offer your sponsors a great advertising opportunity. Anyone who donates $100 or more to your "cause" will receive recognition in some of our race material. AND we encourage you to put their name and logo on your race t-shirt.
